Potty Train Puppy: How to Get It Done As Fast As Possible

Potty train puppy is one of the most important things you’ll need to do for them. As soon as you get your puppy home you’ll need to start teaching them, but realize that it isn’t going to happen overnight. Puppies are also much less able to control their bladder until they’re at least 12 weeks old. Here are a few tips on how to potty train puppy.

1) Look for the Signs: Dogs can show a lot of signs if they need to go! They might start sniffing or pacing. If they do, make sure to take them outside straight away. If he’s already started to go in the house then tell him no, take him outside to finish, and then praise him when he does so. It’s always important to be more positive than negative. Never punish him if you find an accident after it’s already been done – he just won’t understand what he’s in trouble for.

2) Stick to A Schedule: Try to set a schedule to take your puppy outside at the same time every morning. You should also try to feed them at the same time each day, and take them outside whenever they finish eating.

3) Going Out: When you’re going out, you’re going to have to come up with other solutions. Some people choose a crate or kennel, though you might also want to leave him in a room that has suitable flooring material.

The most important things you should take away are to stick to a routine, always to praise him, and never to physically punish him (for more advice, check out the guide Secrets to Dog Training).

To potty train puppy will take time, it could take up to several months. But never give up. This is something that’s very important for both you and your puppy – he’ll soon learn what it takes to please you.
