Clicker Training Puppy: How to Do So Effectively
Clicker training puppy is one method of helping to reinforce what you’re trying to teach them. A clicker is basically a small decide that makes a clicking sound, and you’ll click it whenever your puppy does whatever you want him to do. So, for example, if you tell him to lie down, you click the clicker and give him a treat as soon as he obeys. Here are a few tips for getting the most success out of this kind of training.
Combine Clicks With Treats
To get the most out of clicker training puppy and let him know you think he’s been good, you have to give them a treat each time. Soon, he’ll associate that clicking sound with the idea that he’s getting a treat – so each and every time you click, you have to give a treat to make sure that that association stays strong. Also make sure to give the treat quickly so that the dog truly understands what the click means.
Keep Your Clicker With You
You should always keep your clicker available (along with your treats!) so that you’re ready to reward your dog when he does something that you like. Dogs learn so quickly and this is a fantastic way to train them!
Sometimes your dog will make mistakes even when you think that you’ve trained them successfully. Just remember to give him time. Clicker training puppy does make things easier than they would have been, as long as you follow the tips above to make sure your puppy understands.
